I have a Troy Bilt 753B Wide cut that I bought used. I disovered that one of the serrated pulleys was cracked and replaced it but the blades seem to keep jumping out of time and come together. Any experience with this. It's a heck of a nice mower when it works and I just want to see if I can find a way to fix this.
ReplyDeleteI haven't come across that problem before. I'm not familiar with that model, but it sounds like a possible belt issue. Sorry couldn't be more help, but here are links to a few lawn mower forums with specific Troy-Bilt sections where you might be able to find an answer:

What causes the mower to smake when first started
ReplyDeleteIt could be one of several things, including oil in the exhaust or too much oil. If you recently tipped your mower on its side, it's probably the first reason, and the oil should burn off and stop smoking.

A well-functioning mower deck spindle is necessary for gaining a smooth and consistent cut on the lawn. A lawnmower’s ever-changing machinery builds several components. Some portions of the mower, on the other hand, have never altered.
